Recording Project Information & Requirements

For Producers and Producers' Assistants

We look forward to working with you on your upcoming recording project for RCA Records. Included below is a summary of the information you will need to complete and deliver the project. Specific information about each item can be found in the pages that follow. Please don't hesitate to contact your A&R Administration representative if you have additional questions.

PLEASE READ: Below are all of the elements required by RCA Records to consider the track Delivered. Pre-Release Security Tips can be reviewed here, Submission Guidelines here, and Security Guidelines for Delivery here.


Delivery and full verification of the following, providing at minimum 24bit/44.1 KHz files but delivering at high resolution audio of 24bit/96KHz if possible. For definitions of any of the below assets, please visit the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing delivery recommendations here.

The current preferred delivery method is via VEVA's secure electronic portal. Please notify your A&R Admin before sending files to VEVA.

Complete credits and publishing splits in the below format. Lyrics “as sung” by the artist, approved by the publisher(s).

Signed grant forms are required of all participants with the exception of the artist & producer.

Clearances are required of all signed side-artists & musicians.

AFM (for musicians) & AFTRA (vocalists) contracts are required for all participants. A completed W4 & I9 for each participant is required to accompany the contracts.

Clearance of all samples and completion of the sample forms.

  • Please confirm the origins and originality of the musical bed (were live instruments used or was it programmed completely from scratch with no use of any royalty free sound packs, etc.).
  • If a master use or replay exists, we will need a detailed sample description(s), and pre-sample information in order to effectively clear the record, (i.e. "new song" contains a replay, bar loop, re-sing of the 0:00-0:00 segment of "sampled song" during the 0:00-0:00 segment(s) of "new song" OR throughout "new song").
  • If there was use of any type of sounds from sample packs, Splice, etc, we will also need the following information:
